REACH and Coal Combustion Products - update pre-SIEFs and facvilitators
From June to December 2008 coal combustion products (CCPs) placed on the market have been pre-registered by the producers at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). With this pre-registration these producers are now members of socalled "pre-SIEFs" referring to a specific EC and CAS numbers. In each of this pre-SIEFS one company agreed to be facilitator and will start the communication between the pre-registered parties with the aim to identify and inform about or bring together the producers of the same substance and the parties with the same interests within REACH (registration, data holder , use of exemptions, ...). This can be done by so called pre-SIEF meetings or other tools (e.g. email, inquiries, ....). For CCPs we would like to inform about pre-SIEFs and facilitators as follows:

Please note that the producers of calcium sulfate, SDA-product (> 10 %
ash) and biomass ash have already been invited to so called pre-SIEF meetings.
The meetings will be held in February and March.
In the pre-SIEFs for ashes (residues) and slags/coal an online inquiry will
first be distributed to identify the pre-SIEF members.
